SILVER SPIKE POINT THERAPY

Silver Spike Point (SSP) Therapy, also known as Needle-Free Acupuncture, was developed in Japan in 1976 as a result of a collaborative academic and industrial study between Osaka Medical College’s Department of Anaesthesiology and Nihon Medix Co. Ltd.

This innovative therapy emerged from research aimed at simulating acupuncture anesthesia without the use of traditional needles. Instead, the researchers found that low-frequency electrical stimulation applied through specialized SSP electrodes could effectively provide non-invasive pain relief across a wide range of medical conditions.

The treatment involves the use of small, metal conical electrodes, which stimulate nerve activity at specific points on the body, much like traditional acupuncture but without penetrating the skin. The low-frequency electrical impulses delivered through these electrodes help to modulate pain signals and encourage the body's natural healing processes.

One of the major advantages of SSP Therapy is that it is comfortable and painless for most patients, with no risk of infection or skin damage since it does not involve needles. Additionally, the treatment is safe, with no significant side effects, and it can be repeated as often as needed without any risk of harm. This makes SSP Therapy particularly suitable for chronic conditions where frequent treatments may be required. Clinical trials have shown SSP low frequency electrical stimulation to facilitate the discharge of endorphins (morphine like substances), as does traditional acupuncture.

SSP stimulation can be used in conjunction with additional therapies, including Infra Red Thermo-therapy. During physical rehabilitation, areas can be stimulated using SSP therapy and exercised simultaneously.

SSP therapy has been proven by many studies to have the following effects:

1. Gate control theory
2. Peripheral nerve shut-off effect
3. Analgesic effect resulting from the secretion of suppressants.
